JENNIFER STILLWELL

Bounty (2005)

Materials: paper towels and packaging, corrugated metal, wood boards, cardboard, wood stain, water, power cords, 3-channel video | Dimensions: 5,000 square foot space

Process: Installation at Triple Candie (New York). Reflecting on the factory past of the space, volunteers were asked to unroll and tear off sheets of paper towels over the duration of their shift. Each volunteer approached the task with a different sense of efficiency. The forms that emerged in the space reflected an overlapping physical and psychological slowness and a sensation of melting.
